Jerald Gale
Jerald "Jerry" Gale, 69, Topeka, died Thursday, September 30, 2010, at the Topeka V.A. Hospital. He was born March 23, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Lee Roy and Bertha Gale.
He enlisted in the Marine Corp in July of 1958 and was honorably discharged in June of 1967. He was a veteran of Vietnam.
He married Jacqueline Boggs on July 30, 1960 in California. She preceded him in death on November 16, 2001. Mr. Gale worked at Jostens for 34 years before retiring in 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn (Sandi) Gale, Augusta, KS and Rex Gale, Tulsa, OK; 6 grandchildren, Sierra and Chance of Augusta, Jessica and Dustin of Topeka, Tammy of Georgia and Bryan of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1998, his father in 1985 and a son, Randy Gale in 2001.
Funeral ceremonies will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Dove Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel. Interment with military honors will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. Gale will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corp League Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 67582, Topeka, KS 66667-0582.
