Jerald O. "Jerry" Bayless

Jerald O. “Jerry” Bayless, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born January 10, 1934 in Wakarusa, the son of Albert T. and Florence E. (Fulkerson) Bayless.

Jerry graduated from Auburn High School and attended Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. He served US Navy during the Korean War. He was employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company for 19 years and then for Riley Construction Company for 18 years before retiring. He was a member of Laborers Union No. 1290.

Jerry married Helen H. Martin on March 10, 1958. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2007. He was also preceded in death by one son, Greg Bayless on July 29, 2016 and his siblings, Albert T. Bayless Jr., Dwight Bayless, Mary Brown and Josephine Anguiano.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Bayless of Topeka, two daughters, Lynn Woodruff of Auburn, Sheryl Bayless of Topeka, ten grandchildren, Dustin, Muriah, James, Matthew, Whitney, Sooner, Joshua, Jaden, Jordan and Gracia, sixteen great grandchildren, Skyler, Allison, Damian, Ronnie, Alyana, Leona, Kamillia, Kannon, Kallatina, Braxtyn, Genesis, Hiken Dean, Oliver, Tydus, Ty Bo, Norman, his twin brother, John Bayless of Topeka and three sisters, Doreen Haid of Carbondale, Ann Miller of Topeka, Nancy Weaver of Springfield, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Auburn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
