Jerry Gene Ward, 78, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Jerry was born September 10, 1944 in Chelsea, OK, the son of Archie and Jessie (Bennett) Ward. He attended Maize High School in Maize.
He was self-employed as a flooring contractor for over 50 years, retiring in 2009.
Jerry loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a wonderful craftsman and could build anything. He completed many one of a kind custom projects in his home. Jerry was a Jack of all trades and shared his vast knowledge of carpentry, floor installation, auto mechanics, fishing, and hunting with his two sons, who were his pride and joy. He also loved spending time with his granddaughters and was very proud of them.
Jerry married the love of his life, Janice Graham on July 3, 1966 in Valley Center, KS. They shared 56 years of marriage. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Derek Ward, Topeka, Clint (Terri) Ward, Berryton; grandchildren, Kailey, Bretlynn and Madisyn; and brother, Rick Ward, Toronto, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers.
Cremation has taken place and no public services are planned.
