Jesse M. Collins, born on March 18, 1942, in Pittsburg, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 13 2024, in Topeka, Kansas. He dedicated 30 years of his life to active duty service in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant, embodying spirit of duty and patriotism.
Jesse had a variety of interests that enriched his life. Jesse accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and he enjoyed attending worship service online. He enjoyed photography, capturing moments through his lens. His love for cooking brought many delicious meals to the table, often shared with family and friends. He was also passionate about genealogy, taking the time to trace his family roots and learn about his ancestry. Jesse kept up on the latest technologies, always eager to embrace new advancements. He was an avid grill master.
Jesse is survived by his beloved sister, Peggy Collins, and his children: Janell Collins, Terry (Gia) Collins, Joselyn (David) Stewart, and Jessica (Jeff) Laden. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews, who will cherish many fond memories of their time together.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Collins; his mother, Maurine Birdine; his wife, Rozetta Collins; his brothers, Richard, Douglas, Larry, and Loyd Collins; his sister, Alice Ann Collins; his daughter, DeAnita Anderson and special friend Joyce McNeal.
The family will be having a private service at Leavenworth National Cemetery on October 18th, 2024.
Jesse M. Collins will be remembered not only for his military service but also for the love he shared with his family and the passions that filled his life. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
