Jessica Renae Smith-Sallman, 15, Topeka, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Jesica was born 2:43 A. M. on February 23, 1989 in Topeka, the daughter of Richard L. Sallman and Martha Smith. She was a lifelong Topeka resident and currently was a Sophomore at Topeka West High School, where she was an honor student.
She is survived by her parents, three brothers: Kent Sallman and Michael Smith-Sallman of Topeka; Kali Sallman, Manhattan, KS; four sisters: Melissa Smith, Topeka; Krishna Sallman-Brown, Chicago, IL; Ananda Sallman, Kansas City, MO; and Shanti Wendler, Pittsburg, PA: great grandmother: Mary V. Price and grandmother Elizabeth Price Hollar both of Emporia; grandfather, Norman C. Smith and his wife Ann of Topeka; niece, Kirsten Sallman and nephew, Kyle Sallman. Uncles: Wylie Price, Emporia, KS; Jeffrey Smith, Sacramento, CA; Price Smith, Harveyville, KS; Roger Sallman, Tulsa, OK; cousins, Mrs. Courtney Pierson, Topeka, Mrs. Jenni Bombardier, Topeka , Brandon Smith, Overland Park, KS. , Douglas Sallman, San Francisco, CA; Kelly Metke, Conrad, IA; Jonathon and Stacy Sallman, Tulsa, OK and many extended family . She was preceeded in death by a brother, Simon Wendler and uncle, Robert Sallman and paternal grandparents, John E. and V. Naleta Sallman and great grandfather L.B. Price.
Funeral servies will be held on Thursday, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Topeka. Burial will be at Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery. Jessica will lie in state at Newcomer Family Funeral Home after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday.
