Jessy Hamilton Cooper

Jessy Hamilton Cooper, born on February 10, 1988, in Georgetown, Ohio, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends, a testament to the strong bonds she cherished throughout her life.

Jessy dedicated over 14 years of her life to education, profoundly impacting countless children during her career as a teacher. She possessed a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, a quality that created a warm and inclusive environment in and out of the classroom. Jessy was particularly proud of her son, Jack William Cooper. They enjoyed singing and precious moments with each other. Jessy took great joy in nurturing growth and development of innumerable students who crossed her path. Her commitment to education was underscored by her academic accomplishments, holding an Education degree from Murray State University and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Fort Hays State University.

Known for being the life of any room she entered, Jessy’s vibrant personality shone through in all her interactions. Her smile was infectious, and her caring nature endeared her to colleagues and friends alike. In her leisure time, she enjoyed drawing, singing, and immersing herself in the arts while proudly cheering for Kentucky Basketball.

Surrounded by many loved ones, Jessy is survived by her mother, Robin Hamilton; her father, Jerome Hamilton; her son, Jack William Cooper; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Jessy Hamilton Cooper will be remembered not only for her contributions to the lives of young minds but also for the love and joy she brought into the world around her. Her legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to resonate through the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Topeka Baptist Church, 4500 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66610. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
