Jimmy Duane Glidewell
July 14, 1951 — March 27, 2019
Jimmy Duane "Jim" Glidewell, 67, of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born July 14, 1951 in Topeka, the son of Fred J. and Inez L. (Engelke) Glidewell.
Jim graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1969. He supported many nature and environmental causes. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed flowers and vegetable gardening. He cared for his mother faithfully. He was a gentle soul.
Jim married Linda Gomel. They later divorced.
Survivors include one son; Dustin L. Glidewell of Evergreen, Colorado, one grandson; Justin Glidewell of Manhattan, Kansas and his sister; Brenda A. Koehn of Wichita, one daughter-in-law; Jennifer Glidewell of Manhattan, Kansas and his significant other; Jane Warkentine of Topeka.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one son; Jared Duane Glidewell in August, 2018.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Big Springs United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Big Springs United Methodist Church c/o Robbie Burd, 96 Hwy. 40, Lecompton, Kansas 66050 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
