Jimmy W. Parker, 75, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at a Topeka care facility. He was born February 6, 1945 in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the son of Fred and Lois (Bynum) Parker.
Jimmy graduated from Jacksonville High School and attended East Carolina University. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Systems Engineer for IBM for 30 years before retiring. After retiring, he continued as a private computer consultant. He had resided in Topeka since 1969.
Jimmy was known for his ability to tell stories and his sense of humor.
Jimmy married Karen R. Kennedy on July 8, 1976 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Katherine A. Reich of Topeka and one granddaughter, Shelby D. Reich.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Foster.
Cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
