Jo Ann Murk, 73, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016. She was born January 7, 1943, in Frankfort, KS, the daughter of George J. and Edna (Vail) McClary. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1960.
Jo was employed by Frito Lay in Topeka for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
Jo married Lawrence Murk on July 23, 1960 in Frankfort, Kansas. He preceded her in death March 5, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Terry Murk, Loren Murk (Tammy) and Stan Murk; 2 grandkids; 1 great-granddaughter; sisters, Katheryn Fox (Glen), Beverly Kennedy, Dorothy Hanson (Jim) and Billie Goossen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents, and two brothers, George R. and Henry A. McClary.
In her early years, Jo enjoyed taking the kids to the lake, camping and to demolition derbies and bingo.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 S.W. 6th Avenue in Topeka. Cremation will follow the ceremony. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road Topeka, KS 66604.
