Joan M. Glotzbach

Joan M. Glotzbach, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at a Topeka care facility. She was born May 1, 1932 in McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Schmitt) Kruse.

Joan graduated from Fort Hays State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree and later a Master's Degree from Washburn University. She was employed as a nurse by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center for 22 years prior to retiring.

Joan married Mehl Bequette. They later divorced. She married Marvin W. Glotzbach on October 8, 1966 in Hays, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her children, Mary and Karen and recently Gary Bequette in 2016.

Survivors include one son, Dan (Florian) Bequette of Childress, Texas, two daughters, Linda Steinbock of Shawnee, Kansas and Eve Cummings of Topeka, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her brothers, Max (Lynn) Kruse in Texas and Dave (Sylvia) Kruse of Leoville, Kansas.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
