Joann Frish Knobelauch, 74, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born September 25, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Julius and Agnes Pospisil Frish. She was a graduate of South High School in 1950 and Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (now Clarkson College) with a degree in nursing in 1954. In her nursing career she worked at Lutheran Clarkson and Doctor's Hospitals in Omaha and Memorial and St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS She retired from St. Francis Hospital in 1995.
Mrs. Knobelauch was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, since 1972, Evening Sertoma Club of Topeka, where she was club Sertoman of the Year in 1999.
Joann married the love of her life, Vern Knobelauch on September 23, 1961 in Omaha, NE. They moved to Topeka in 1971. He survives. Other surivors include a son, Kurt Knobelauch of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Christiane Taylor of Topeka, Kimberley Taylor and husband, Gregory of Clarksville, AR; three grandchildren, a brother; five sisters.
Fulfilling her request, Mrs. Knobelauch was cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midland Hospice Care or to the Our Savior Lutheran Church.
