Joe Don Flack, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at his home. He was born September 18, 1930 in Lacrosse, KS, the son of Marion and Lavina Meeker Flack.
Joe was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He attended the University of Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a Degree in Engineering. Joe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Colly Creek Ward, Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion and the V.F.W.
Joe married Elizabeth G. dePauw in May, 1959 in New York, New York. She preceded him in death in 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Donna E. (Bill) Zimmerman of Topeka, two step-children, Richard Serenbetz of Las Vegas, NV, Katherine Altieri of Hemet, CA, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Colly Creek Ward, 3611 SW Jewell. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Joe will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
