John C. Tolliver

John Clifford Tolliver, 47, of Wichita, formerly of Topeka, went Home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was born February 12, 1964 in San Francisco, CA, the son of John Clifford and Cynthia C. Rylander Tolliver, Sr. He attended Highland Park High School and obtained an Associate Degree from Washburn University.

John was employed by the Wichita Marriott Hotel Corporation for several years. He graduated from the InnerChange Freedom Initiative Program and attended the First Christian Church in Haysville.

Survivors include his daughter, Hillary Marie Tolliver of KS, his mother, Cynthia Keeling of KS, his siblings, Timothy Tolliver of CA, Lisa Keeling of KS, Vanessa Keeling-Williams of CA, Ericka Tafoya of CA, Andrea Keeling of CA, Kim Keeling of GA, and Michael Brooks of KS and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his father and his nephew, Vidal Marion Martin "Beetle" Vela.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. John will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the John C. Tolliver Memorial Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
