John Cyril Drain, 80 of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2005 at a local hospital.
John was born February 9, 1925 in LaSalle, Illinois, the son of Thomas D. and Catherine Riley Drain.
He was a veteran of World War II.
John was employed by Shawnee County, retiring in1987.
John was a member of the American Legion, Capitol Post #1, Holy Name Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council 2608.
John married Beverly A. McKinney on June 6, 1949 in Fall City, Nebraska. She died June 30, 1999. Survivors include sons: John Drain and Kevin Drain both of Topeka, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Mr. Drain will lie in state at Newcomer Family Funeral Home after 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Morrill Cemetery in Morrill.
