John Herman Hess

John H. Hess, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, November 14th, 2022, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS.

He was born September 18, 1951, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, the son of Carroll V. and Velma B. (Boal) Hess.

John was a 1969 graduate from Manhattan High School. He lived in Manhattan, Kansas until moving to Topeka in 2010.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, LuAnn Hess. Survivors include his sisters, Debra Walters Milne and her husband, Charlie and Cheryl Christine Creviston and her husband, Jamie; four nieces and nephews, Lindsay McCrite and her husband, Cassidy and their children, Ellis, Bowen and Ames; James Creviston; Brianne Hyder and her husband Zach and their children, Callum, Quinn and Parker; and Ashley Walters.

John will always be remembered for the love and kindness he afforded his family.

Cremation is planned. Burial will be at Ringgold Cemetery, Ringgold, MD next to his parents. A private service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Those who wish to remember John in a special way may make gifts in his memory to NAMI Kansas (National Alliance on Mental Health), 1801 SW Wanamaker Rd, Unit G 6 Box 164,Topeka, KS 66604.
