John A. Johnson, 88, passed away at Aldersgate Village, Topeka, Kansas surrounded by his family Dec. 5, 2012. He was born June 27, 1924 in Ogema, Wisconsin to Nels and Minnie (Meier) Johnson. He graduated from Prentice High School in Prentice Wisconsin. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He served in the Peace Corps in Africa from October 1976 to October 1977.
He married Pearl Albrecht on June 6, 1945. She preceded him in death on June 17, 1976. He was also preceded in death by his brother and two sisters.
He married Barbara Panure on Sept. 15, 1979 at Green Bay, Wisconsin. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Allan (Sara) Johnson of Marquette, Michigan, and Bruce (Lupe) Johnson of Palmer, Alaska; one daughter, Amy (Chris) Corbin of Topeka, Kansas; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; and Squirt, his loving dog and companion.
