John P. Kriss, 63, of Tecumseh, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was born July 2, 1955 in Colby, Kansas, the son of John D. and Phyllis (Bedore) Kriss.
John earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Welfare from Kansas State University, a Master's Degree in Social Welfare from the University of Kansas and a Doctorate of Law Degree from the University of Kansas. He was a self-employed Clinical Social Worker.
John married Linda Purvis on December 17, 1998, in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two step-sons, Rob (Jill) Wesch of Cypress, Texas, Bill (Sandra) Wesch of Kalispell, Montana, twin granddaughters, Rachel and Jane, and his siblings, Ladeska Makings of Larned, Kansas, Melany (Ron) Shalz of Colby, Kansas, Yvonne (Gary) Baumfalk of Colby, Kansas, Kim Kriss of Colby, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018, at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Boy Scouts of America, 1325 West Walnut Hill Ln., Irving, Texas 75015 or to Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38120.
