John William "Bill" Reed

John William "Bill" Reed III, 77, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024.

He was born July 20, 1947, in Boonville, Missouri, the son of John and Ina (Henderson) Reed. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka.

Bill was employed by Midland Broadcasting for 20 years, retiring in 1999.

Bill married Linda Kathleen Wright on September 6, 2002 in Eureka Springs, AR. She survives. Other survivors include sisters, Linda Young and Dawn Moerings; niece, Maggie Smith; and grandsons, Nate Leeper and Trey Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Casey William Reed, and sister, Janette Crispin. 

Bill enjoyed golfing and gardening.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024 at Dove Southwest Reception Hall, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610.
