John F. "Jack" Shockley, 86, Topeka, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Jack was born August 28, 1932 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Harry and Esther (Lindburg) Shockley. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines where he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and from St. Louis University.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Major.
Jack married Mary Lou Myers on December 24, 1955 in Topeka. She died November 28, 1988. He married Nancy Stark on October 29, 1989. She died April 22, 2016. Survivors include a son, Jack D. Shockley, Papillion, NE; daughter, Kristy Seley, Topeka; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-children; 7 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Hefner; and grandson, Jamie Leach.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Private family inurnment will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
