John Tarasyn, 96, of Topeka, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011. He was born May 9, 1915 in the Ukraine.
John earned his degree in Civil Engineering while living in Germany. He retired in 1985 after 23 years of service as a Shawnee County engineer, and Director of Public Works. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. John was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Alla Tarasyn, and Alexandra Johnson (Craig); and grandchildren, Larisa and Ross Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Tarasyn.
