John Walter Celuch, Jr. 58, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014.
He was born March 1, 1956, in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of Iwan and Olesja (Roman) Celuch. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Johnny was a member of the Epiphany Ukrainian Catholic Church, of Rochester, New York, and was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage.
Johnny married Tomma Robinson on May 4th, 1990. Survivors include a son, Peter A. Celuch, Topeka; his father, Iwan Celuch, Rochester, NY; a sister, Natalie (Stephen) Higgins and family, Scottsdale, AZ; a brother, Stefan (Amy) Celuch and family, Huntsville, AL.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Olesja Celuch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Topeka. Burial will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. John will lie in state at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday May 12. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
