Jon Steven "J.B." Boggs, 47, of Topeka, passed away Thursday July 28 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born July 7, 1958 in North Hollywood, CA, the son of Orie E. and Annette G. Pavlock Boggs.
He was employed by Otis Elevator and was in charge of maintaning the elevators in the Chevron/Texaco Building in downtown Houston before retiring due to his illness in 2004. He was a member of the National Elevator Industry, Local Union # 31. He loved boating and motorcycle riding and was an avid fisherman.
He married Sheery R. Culotta in Humble, TX. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, April Annette DeBoy.
Other survivors include a son, Jon S. Boggs,II, Mount Cherry, S.C., ; two daughters, Jessica L. Boggs, Kingwood, TX and Kimberly A. Boggs of Topeka; a brother, Robert G. Boggs of Topeka; a sister, Kathy B.Lutz of Topeka, three step daughters, Tiffiany, Danielle, and Toni of Texas and one grandson, Tyler DeBoy of Duncan, S.C. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Boggs will lie in state after 6:00 pm, Monday August 1 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 2 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
