Jorge Escalante, 70, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was born March 20, 1951 in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico, the son of Jorge Escalante and Guadalupe Alatorre.
Jorge was employed as a Butcher for City Meats in San Diego, California. He had resided in Topeka since 2004.
Jorge married Margarita Osuna on May 13, 1992 in San Diego, California. She survives. Other survivors include children, Jorge Escalante, Cindy Portillo - Escalante, Jose Luis Escalante, Anthony Escalante, Jorge Escalante, Estrella M. Osuna, Patricia Escalante, ten grandchildren, Jorge "Freeman", Elizabeth Nicole, Emma Rose, Christopher, Yanely, Risk Alexander, Maleni Fayth, Isla Mae, Gema, Yandel and his siblings, Evelyn Escalante, Nancy Escalante, Javier Escalante and Dalia Guadalupe Escalante.
Jorge was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date.
