Joseph E. Kliment, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. He was born on April 5, 1932 in Bee, Nebraska to Frank and Irma (Skalak) Klement.
Joseph graduated from David City High School in David City, NE in 1950. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. On August 6, 1956, he married Nadine Jones in David City, NE. He was a baker for Evans Bakery in Cozad, NE for 18 years. He was a member of American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine of the home, his children, Susie (Tom) Kaberline of Maple Hill and Tom (Kahla) Kliment of Carbondale; six siblings, Emil Klement of Ulysses, NE; Frank Klement of Ulysses, NE; Rosie Westerhoff of Seward, NE; Annie Klement Of Ulysses, NE; Mary (Pete) Kortum Of Grand Island, NE; John (Anita) Klement Of Ulysses, NE; Five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at the St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel.
