Joseph L. Grubham, 47, of Topeka, passed away on Aug. 19, 2011. He was born Jan. 24, 1964, in Topeka, KS, the son of William Dean and Evelyn Mae (Robinson) Grubham. Joseph was a graduate of Capitol City High School. He spent much of his life in the Topeka area, and was very involved with the Topeka Rescue Mission, as his health permitted. He very much enjoyed spending time with his full bred poodle, Miss Puffy Dawn.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Monroe, of Meriden; sister, Laurie (Tim) Woolbright, of Meriden; brother, Bill (Matie) Grubham, of Lecompton; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; 11 great nieces; 3 great nephews; 1 great-great nephew; and Miss Puffy Dawn. Joseph is also survived by his second parents, Rod (Judy) Say, of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Grubham; step-father, Don Monroe; sisters, Barbara Arneson and Holly Stack; grandparents, Lee (Hazel) Robinson, and Joe (Lucile) Grubham; two nieces, Amber Grubham and Sara Stack; and nephew, Ryan Stack.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sat. Aug. 27, 2011, at First Free Methodist Church, 3450 SE Indiana Ave., Topeka, KS, with Pastor Mark Waterhouse officiating. Inurnment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Burlington, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
