Joseph J. "Joe" Pinter, 89, of Topeka, fell asleep in Jesus on Thursday, November 10, 2022. He was born September 22, 1933 in Budapest, Hungary, the son of Janos and Emma (Csaba) Pinter.
Joe was an Air Force Veteran, serving from 1952 - 1961 which included the Korean War. He had resided in Topeka since 1952. Joe was a self-employed painter and enjoyed woodworking and furniture finishing. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and later Faith Lutheran Church. He was an avid water skier and outdoorsman.
Joe married Lota Gerhardt on April 10, 1955 in Netawaka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2000. He later married Dorothea R. "Dottie" Koch on September 22, 2000 in Topeka. She survives. He was also preceded in death by his daughters; Betty Ramsey, Tina Fay and son-in-laws; David Holmberg and Rick Fay.
Survivors besides his wife, Dottie also include children; Kathy Holmberg (Matt Payne) of Topeka and Deborah (Warren) Werth of Sachse, Texas, son-in-law; Dan Ramsey of Berryton, Daniel (Donna) Braden of Topeka, Sheri Alexander (Angelo) of Pullman, Washington, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren.
Joe will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, Kansas 66604. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
