Joseph Remy
August 31, 1937 — February 8, 2016
Joseph L. Remy, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 31, 1937 in Emporia, KS, the son of Lloyd L. and Mary C. (Austin) Remy.
Joseph graduated from Emporia High School. He completed two years of college. He was employed by Mid America Janitorial as a self-employed salesman.
Joseph married Sheila A. Kent on October 10, 1980 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She survives. Other survivors include his children, John (Toni) Remy, Steve Remy, Terri Lee, Kelly (Jim) Marsh and six grandchildren, Leigh, Kira, Taylor, Austin, Greyson and Khloe.
Joseph was preceded in death by his siblings, Nancy, Lloyd and Bob.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, KS 66604 or to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506.
