Josephine E. Osburn, 83, of Topeka passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital.
Josephine (Jo) was born October 29, 1920 in Hessdale, Kansas. She was the daughter of Otto and Helen Schutter Sommer.

Josephine graduated from Eskridge High School in 1940. She later moved to Topeka and started work at Hallmark Cards where she was employed for more than 40 years. She retired in 1943 and was a member of the Hallmark Retirement Club.

Josephine married Delbert Osburn in 1949. They were married for 42 years before he preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lee O. Sommer in August of 1995.

Survivors include a niece Linda and her husband Jim McNeece; a great-nephew, Jordan McNeece all of Topeka.

Mrs. Osburn will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Eskridge Cemetery in Eskridge.
