Joyce A. Adcock, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
She was born January 11, 1945, in Horton, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Peck) Bindel. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1963.
Joyce was employed by USD 501 as a paraprofessional with the hearing impaired for 24 years, retiring in 2008.
Mrs. Adcock was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Topeka. She was actively involved with their knitting club and volunteered in their nursery for years. She and Gerald were active in the Oz HOG motorcycle club and enjoyed cruise nights with their car club. Joyce was an avid bowler and loved fishing and baking. One of the most important things in her life was the precious time she spent with her granddaughter Allison. She enjoyed vacationing to many places, especially their train trip to San Francisco during Christmas.
Joyce married Gerald Adcock on August 8, 1965 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He survives, along with her daughter, Shelly Vollintine (Rusty) of Topeka; her granddaughter, Allison Sankey (Luke); a great-granddaughter on the way; and her sister, Rosetta Casselle. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wilbur Bindel.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6th at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st Street in Topeka. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, 606 East Iowa in Hiawatha, Kansas on Tuesday, December 6th at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
