Sara "Juanita" (Bryson) Cleland, 88, of Topeka, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015.

She was born January 17, 1927 in Owings, South Carolina, the daughter of Newton Craig and Ellis Kathleen (Darby) Bryson. She was a graduate of Owings High School.

She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Topeka, and a former member of Carmel Baptist Church, Matthews, NC and First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL.

Juanita married William "Bill" Paul Cleland, Sr. on December 17, 1948 at Owings, South Carolina. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2012. Survivors include her son, William "Paul" Cleland, Jr. and his wife Janis of Topeka; her daughter, Nancy Cleland Higgins of Monroe, NC; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Doris Kathleen Bryson Rooten.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka is assisting the family.
