Juanita M. Brown, 94, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
Juanita was born August 11, 1921 in Kirksville, MO the daughter of Pius and Orella (Quinn) Rogerson. She graduated from Kirksville Senior High School and from Nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital in Kirksville, MO. She later worked as a staff nurse at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Juanita married Glen Brown in 1946. He died in 1996. Survivors include daughter, Glenda (Jack) Hannings, Naples, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Hannings, Michelle Carlson, Lori Peitz, Allen Russell; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Russell; and sister, Carmelita Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.
