Juanita Sharitz, 91, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 with her family at her bedside.

Visitation will be 12:00pm, Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Juanita's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time. Click here to view the service. Burial will be 11:00am, Monday, June 10, 2024 at East Slope Memorial Gardens in Riverside, MO.

Juanita Jean Sharitz was born in Overbrook, Kansas to Edward and Nina Kentch on November 11, 1932. She graduated from Overbrook High School in 1951. Juanita had one brother Everett and two sisters, Lillian and Frances. She married Laurence Winton Sharitz on October 2, 1959, in Kansas City, KS. Together they had four children, Brian, Deanna, Kim, and Jim. She worked primarily as a homemaker but enjoyed a part time job in a flower shop and as a cook in a long-term care facility. Juanita owned a small ceramic shop in the basement of her home in Lawson, MO where she offered classes. Juanita was also involved in cooking for bingo at the Recreation Center where she lived in Manteca, CA. She also enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, bingo, and socializing with friends. However, Juanita’s greatest joy was reminiscing and being kept up to date with the interests and activities of her grandkids; Nick, Jennifer, Jonathan and Denise, great grandkids; Madeline, Marcus, Matthew, Joshua, Aurora, Sophia, Nathan and Zachary and step grandkids; Michael and Brandon.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Laurence Sharitz on December 5, 1993; grandson, Steven Sharitz on June 9, 1995; and daughter, Deanna Hoyt on December 22, 2022.

She is survived by children, Brian (Julie) of Sonora, CA, Kim (Heather) of Topeka, KS and Jim of Williamsport, PA.
