Judith Lynn Arie

August 24, 1946 — January 16, 2017

Judith Lynn Arie, 70, of Topeka passed away January 16, 2017. She was born August 24, 1946 to Jesse L. and Irene M. (Howard) Kline in Denver, Colorado. She was raised in Grainfield, Kansas and graduated from Grainfield High School. She married Ray Walter Arie, Jr. on October 25, 1964 in Grainfield.

She was employed as a typesetter by the Oakley Graphic in the late 60s. She worked as an assistant at the Lakin Pharmacy for 23 years. Judith was an avid seamstress her whole life and enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She always opened her home to strays…dogs, cats and kids. As her children were growing up she was affectionately known to all of their friends as "Mom" and later in life as "Gma." Her great-granddaughter just called her "Great." Her openness and caring, strong characteristics that people loved about her, enabled her to never meet a stranger and always lend a needed ear.

She is survived by her son Bryan (Deana) Arie of Garden City, KS, daughter Melissa (Raj) Hullon, granddaughter Ashley (Allen) Massey, grandson Mitchell Hullon, and great-granddaughter Kenzie Paige Massey, all of Topeka, KS. Her great-grandson is expected in May. She will be dearly missed by her fur grandbabies, especially Max and Chloe.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray W. Arie, Jr., three brothers: Ernest Lee Kline, Robert Kline and Louis R. Kline, and one sister Jean W. Chaffee Hansen.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10AM on June 10, 2017 at Grainfield United Methodist Church, Grainfield, KS.
