Judith "Judy" Jo Brunton, 80, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021.
She was born August 27, 1940, north of Perry, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Flora (Brown) Bracken. She went to Ozawkie High School and then attended Clark Business College where she received an associate's degree in business.
Judith was employed by the Kansas National Education Association for 37 years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed her career and working with her coworkers over the years.
Judy enjoyed Christmas time. She also loved spending time with her family for holidays, birthdays, and trips to Branson, texting and talking on her cell phone, and attending the grandchildren's sporting and school activities.
Judith married Max Brunton on January 27, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. They first met in 1st grade at Ozawkie Grade School.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Kevin (Kristine) Brunton and Brad (Deanna) Brunton; grandchildren, Heath (Jessica) Allen Brunton, Levi Chase Brunton, Samantha Jo Brunton, Jake Lee Brunton and Taylor Katherine Brunton; great grandchildren, Adalynn Jo Brunton and Lucy Mae Brunton. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bernard Cecil Koch, Henry Francis Koch and Katheryn June Balinger.
Honoring Judy's wishes, cremation is planned. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Rd, Topeka, KS 66615. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital- Pediatric Research 2401 Gillham, Kansas City, MO, 64108.
