Judith K. Ramey, 81, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022, surrounded in love by her daughters Debra and Mary Taylor. She was born February 14, 1941, in Harveyville, Kansas the daughter of Paul Leslie Brown and H. Jean (Lewis) Brown.

Judith graduated from Harveyville Rural High School in 1959 and furthered her education attending Emporia State University. She was employed with American Petroleum Institute for over 25 years. As a woman always ahead of her time, she founded the Harveyville Girls Softball Association well before Title IV. She was also a dedicated coach that provided so many girls the opportunity to thrive.

Judith was known for love of family and friends, lake time, her deck, wineries, laughter, games, crossword puzzles, holidays, Jeeps, fighting until the end, and unconditional love for so many.

Judith married Richard L. Ramey on November 9, 1973, in Harveyville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2017. He was truly the love of her life, and they shared many precious memories with family and friends.

Survivors include her devoted daughters; Debra (Kim Long) Taylor of Leawood, Kansas and Mary Taylor of Topeka, Kansas; her siblings, Robert (Cathy) Brown of Eskridge, Kansas, Jim (Sharon) Brown of Rogersville, Missouri, Randy (Cathy) Brown of Harveyville, Kansas and Nancy Dotson of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by "other daughters" Brenda Soldani, Michelle Pruitt, Julie Estes and Tracy Estes as well as three stepchildren and their families. She cherished her nieces and nephews and treated them as her own. Special survivors are her grand dog and constant companion Sebastian and her best friend Gayle Burns.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Dove Funeral Homes, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. The family will receive friends starting at 9:30 a.m. Private family interment will take place in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke's Hospice Care, 901 E. 104th St., Ste. N3000, Kansas City, Missouri 64131 or to the Cotton-O'Neil Cancer Center, 1414 SW 8th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
