Judy Beckmon

Judy Gail Beckmon, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at a Topeka hospital. She was born October 7, 1944 in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of Lonnie "L.A." and Madge (Bolton) White.
Judy love painting and crafting of floral décor and music. She attended church at Brewster Place and was a member of a women's group there. She spent her life as a devoted homemaker, and was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Judy married Tony Barfknecht in December of 1961 and later divorced. They had two children together; a son, Don Barfknecht of Eden, Texas and a daughter, Mindy (Gary Lane) Speck of Eden, Texas. Judy was blessed with two grandchildren, Colby (Allison) Speck of Topeka, and Danielle Speck of Brady, Texas. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Madison, Ellie, Bronson Riggs Speck and two brothers, Jerry (Terri) White of Jamaica Beach, Texas, Bill (Judy) White of Elk City, Oklahoma and one sister, Jeanne (James) Laird of Tyler, Texas.
Judy later met her soul mate, David Beckmon and they later married in April 1990. Surviving are two step-daughters, Tina Hoyt of Surprise, Arizona and Glenda Beckmon of Provo, Utah, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Novella Madge Barfknecht and her parents.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned and a private Celebration of Judy's Life will be held at a later date.
