Judy Elaine Reed, 71, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. She was born November 18, 1944, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Snodgrass) Hamann. Judy was raised in McPherson and graduated from McPherson High School.
Judy married Jerry O. Reed on August 31, 1962 in McPherson, Kansas. He survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Barbara Coultis (David) of Topeka and daughter, Jennifer Marek (Norbert Jr.) of Westmoreland, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin and Claire Coultis and Sarah and Andrew Marek; sisters, Marjorie Klein of Wichita, Kansas and Goldie Hill of McPherson. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anita Dubus.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Judy was a wonderful homemaker who was very dedicated to her family. She was especially dedicated to spending time with her grandchildren, which was very much appreciated by all her family.
Judy also gave of herself by being involved with various volunteer works. In Topeka, she volunteered her time to Topeka Public Schools, the Treasures of the Czar's Exhibit, Countryside United Methodist Church (of which she was a member), and Brewster Place. While living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma she was very active at the Tuesday House Thrift Store, and she attended the First United Methodist Church.
Judy was cremated. A memorial service will be held at11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16th at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66611. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brewster Place Foundation, 1205 SW 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66611 or to Countryside United Methodist Church.
