Judy L. (Burkhardt) Goodell, 66, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born June 25, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Cowdrey) Burkhardt. She was a graduate of Topeka High.
Judy was employed by Menninger's for many years, retiring in 2001. She loved the outdoors, birds, her dogs, her cats, and Pepsi.
Judy married Wayne F. Booth, to which two children were born. They later divorced.
Judy then married Kenneth John Goodell on March 17, 1984, in Topeka, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Tammy M. (husband Josh) Hughes; son, Danny A. Booth; sisters, Patsy Talley and Dianna Duclos; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Lee and brother, Dalbert Burkhardt.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
