June Marie Mallory Pringle was born on June 9, 1927 in Wichita, and died on December 20, 2014 in Topeka, Kansas. She was the daughter of Roland and Alice Mallory and grew up in their home in Bucklin, Kansas. She married her life-time love, Jack B. Pringle, on May 27, 1951 in Lawrence, Kansas. Jack preceded June in death in 2003. They were both proud graduates of the Universityof Kansas School of Education and June played clarinet in the KU marching band.
June was a teacher in Elinwood, Kansas before marrying Jack and moving to their first home in Ottawa, Kansas. They made many lifelong friends in Ottawa. They made Topeka their permanent home in 1956. They had three children, Robena Pringle Farrell, Rodney Pringle, and Marcy Pringle Bowen. June is survived by all three children; son-in-laws, Gene Farrell and Randy Bowen; grandchildren, Amy Farrell Mattison, Maxwell Bowen, and Sarah Bowen; and her great-grandchildren, Marley Mattison, Walker Mattison, and Rylynn Robson.
June and Jack were members of First Christian Church of Topeka, Kansas and the Topeka Teachers Association. They valued the deep friendships made in each group. June was a teacher for the Topeka Public Schools, Special Education Services. June loved visiting with family and friends, playing with her grandchildren, fishing, traveling, cheering on the Jayhawks, and enjoyed painting in pastels and oils.
A memorial service will be held on December 31, 2014 at 11:00 am in the chapel at the Brewster Health Center. Private inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church, 1880 S.W. Gage Blvd., or the Brewster Foundation, 1205 S.W. 29th Street.
