June Rockey, 72, of Topeka Kansas, passed away following a traffic accident, on Monday, January 21, 2019.
June was born on June 14, 1946 in Moline, Kansas, the youngest of five children, born to Fred Henry and Gladys Mae (Anderson) Duensing. She is survived by her sister, Jean Kistler of Udall, Kansas; her daughters, Lori (Steve) Wyre, of Topeka, Kansas; Tomi (Tony) Rues, of LaCrosse, Kansas; Robin (Todd) Hutchinson, of Cold Spring, New York; her son, Bryan (Kristi) Rockey, of Topeka, Kansas; seven grandchildren and her companion, Steve Hadl. June was preceded in death by her husband, Evert Rockey, her parents, and three siblings, Bill Duensing, Leona Hamm, and Bob Duensing.
June was passionate about her career as a Real Estate Agent, where she served Topeka, for 45 years. She owned Rockey's Realty in the 1980's and has been with Coldwell Banker Griffith and Blair for the last 18 years. June was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Topeka and The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
June was selfless, generous, and joyful. June was active at her church and served on several boards in the community. June was full of life and her family meant the world to her.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 2:00 to 3:00pm, Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. A private inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
