Karen A. Emery, 68, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born October 17, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Juanita (Jones) Head.
Karen graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Washburn University. She was employed by the East Topeka Senior Citizens Center.
Karen married Theodore Emery on October 2, 1970. They later divorced.
Karen was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Robert Robinson in July, 2015, her sister, Patricia "Cookie" Moten in March, 2001 and her brother, James Jones in March, 1964.
Survivors include three sons; Kent Emery of Topeka, Chad (Heather) Emery of Tecumseh, James Emery of Seattle, Washington, three grandchildren; Taryn, Jadyn and Theodore "Teddy" and her three sisters; Debbie Rayford of Topeka, Donna Rayford of Topeka and Glenda Counts.
Cremation has taken place and as per Karen's wishes, no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family.
