Kathleen E. "Kay" Mulder, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Aldersgate Village. She was born August 9, 1924 in Boston, MA. She graduated from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada with a BS degree in music.
Kay had resided in Topeka since 1975 and of all the cities she had lived in during her lifetime, she dearly loved the people and community of Topeka. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Kay married Howard R. Mulder on November 28, 1953 in Ridgewood, N.J. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Merrilee Zenti of Sacramento, CA, Shari Toomay of Topeka, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother and one sister.
Private burial will take place in Rochester Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66608 or to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4011 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66617.
The family deeply appreciates the wonderful care that she received from the nurses and staff at Aldersgate Village for the past four years of her life, and the comfort that was provided by the Hardin Hospice staff. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
