Kathleen Ellen McClellan, 74, Topeka, KS, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born Oct. 14, 1932 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of William Shephard and Elsie Kelly Therrien. She graduated from Madison High School, Madison Heights, MI, and received an Associate Degree from Oakland Community College, Oakland, MI in 1983.
Mrs. McClellan was employed as a technical writer for the State of Michigan, unemployment division for 22 years before retiring.
She lived in Cheyenne, WY from 1954 to 1972, and in Oak Park, MI from 1972 until moving to Topeka in 2002.
She married John R. McClellan on Oct. 24, 1950 in Detroit. He died June 1, 1965.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Patricia A. Mower of Topeka, John Christopher McClellan of Kansas City, KS, Michael A. McClellan of Odessa, TX, Lynn S. Spence of Cheyenne; a sister, Alice Counts of Royal Oak, MI; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, Topeka.
