Kathleen Marie Bircher

Kathleen Marie Bircher, 51, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012. She was born June 3, 1960 in Klamath Falls, OR, the daughter of Jack Dale and Irene (Szolnoki) Hock.
Growing up in a military family, Kathy lived in many different towns before her family settled in Topeka when she was 9. She graduated from Topeka West High School in1978. In 1999, she graduated from Washburn University with a degree in early childhood education. She taught at various daycare facilities around Topeka, and most recently worked as a customer service agent at a local call center.
Kathy's smile and kind attitude touched many lives, even when she was hurting. She always had a smile on her face and a hug to make your sadness go away. She loved attending her kid's activities, reading, sewing, and playing with her Pembroke Welsh Corgi, "Gizmo".
Kathy married Richard Bircher, Sr. on March 26, 1982 at the rose garden in Gage Park. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Ricky; daughter, Bethany; brother, Jeff; mother, Irene; 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father and infant son, Christopher.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66606. The family will have a visitation one hour prior to the service.
