Kathleen Roxanne Mai

Kathleen Roxanne Mai, 54, Topeka, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Kathleen was born April 30, 1955 in Yuma, AZ, the daughter of Harold and Jeanette (Vaught) Gibson. She was raised in Chickasha, OK and WaKeeney, graduating from Trego Community High School in 1973.

She worked for Goodyear Tire in Topeka for 17 years and was a proud member of the United Steel Workers Union #307.

Her greatest joys were her grand babies, outings with her mother, and spending time with Dennis.

Survivors include her parents, Harold and Jeanette Gibson, Eskridge; daughters, Meg (Paul) Dubosky, Chicago, IL, Mindy Mai, Topeka; grandchildren, Madison, Chloe, Pauley, Ryan, Hazel Kathleen; sisters, Rise Morris, Wichita, Debbie Crowder, Denver, CO; brothers, Rick Gibson, Salina, Terry Elston, Voorhees, NJ, William Elston, Hilton Head, SC; and partner, Dennis Weishaar, Topeka. She was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Gibson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Kathleen requests that bright colors be worn by those attending the service.
