Kathryn Darlene “Kathy” Eaton, 67, of Auburn, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024.
She was born June 28, 1957, in Seattle, Washington. She received her master’s degree from Wichita State and her Doctorate in Nursing from Kansas University. She served in the United States Air Force until being honorably discharged.
Kathy was employed by St. Francis Hospital and Northeast VA Medical System both in Leavenworth and Topeka, KS.
She served on the Board of Directors of Northeast Kansas Arthritis Foundation and other various nursing organizations.
Kathy married Butch Eaton on July 3, 2001 in Juneau, Alaska. He survives. Other survivors include eight children; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six siblings.
Kathy had a love for entertaining and cooking. Her home was always a welcoming place that provided the comforts of endless wine and food. Around the holidays you would be sure to find a plethora of her famous chocolate chip cookies, chili and chicken noodle soup. Not to mention the insane amount of Santa Clause statues, Christmas Trees and presents.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS.
A funeral ceremony will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS. There will also be a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Blue Moose Restaurant in Topeka.
