Kathy L. "Gammy" Michael, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. She was born August 19, 1949 in Topeka, the daughter of Don and Betty (Owens) McCown.
Kathy attended Topeka Public Schools. She was employed by Frito Lay for 39 years before retiring.
Kathy married Fred C. Michael on May 16, 1977 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Lacy Michael-Carlson of Topeka, three grandchildren, Xander, Skylar and Rhylee and her two sisters, Linda (Steve) Turnbow of Topeka and Robbie Pennington of Topeka and three brothers, Don McCown of Topeka, John McCown of Topeka and Ron McCown of Topeka.
A private Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
