Davie Kem Lunn, 69, Topeka, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home.
He was born January 16, 1941 in Canadian, Texas, the son of Grady and Maye Bayless Lunn. He graduated from Palo Duro High School, Amarillo in 1959 and attended Amarillo College.
Kem was hired at Santa Fe in June, 1957. He worked various clerical positions until June, 1985 at which time he was promoted to Assistant to the Superintendent in Amarillo. In June 1989, he became the Supervisor of Manpower Planning in Euless, Texas, and in February, 1993, he became the assistant director of Crew Management in Topeka. In January 1996 he was promoted to the Director of Crew Management at Topeka until he retired in June, 1999,
He married Jackie Wyatt Taylor on Jan. 2, 1988 in Amarillo. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Lunn of Topeka; two step-sons, Brent (Brea) Taylor of Plano, TX and their children, Emma and Brady, and Mike Taylor of Arlington, TX and his daughter, Madison; a brother, Phil (Jan) Lunn of Topeka; two sisters, Donna (Bill) Nix and Nachola Jeter, both of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Pat Egan of Amarillo and Wynell Moody of Cumby, TX and a nephew, Brad Hutton.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel with interment in Llano Cemetery, Amarillo. Kem will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
