Kenneth Hilliard

Kenneth Eugene Hilliard, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Kenneth was born on November 19, 1928, the son of the late Ernest and Grace Johnson Hilliard, of Pratt, KS. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 after serving for 38 years. He was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Kenneth married Dixie Lucas on October 24, 1964 in Liberal, KS. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Cathy Mullen, Lynette Nelson and Richard Hilliard all of Guymon, OK and Terry Hilliard of Goodwell, OK, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Foust of Alexandria, VA and one brother, Lawrence Hilliard of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Pearce and one brother, Ernest Hilliard. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
