Kenneth L. "Kenny" Trimble, 71, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Midland Hospice House. He was born May 5, 1940 in Topeka, the son of James G. and Martha F. Libby Trimble. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1958.
He worked in the construction field for over 40 years, including M.W. Watson Construction Company, Hamms Construction Company, May, Ransom Sheetz Construction and Joe Conroy Construction Company. Kenny later became co-owner and president of Berryton Excavating Company before retiring due to health reasons. He was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church, where he held several offices and the Moose Lodge.
Kenny married Carolyn K. Simons. They were divorced. Kenny married Carol S. Richards on June 30, 1969 in Miami, OK. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lori Miller, Kathy and her husband, Bob Bell, Cindy Finan, step-daughter, Michele Richards, one son, Kevin Trimble, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Kenny was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Smith, his step-daughter, Leslie Richards, a step-granddaughter, Shelby Richards and five siblings, LaVey, Bill, Jim, Gloria Maxine and Bonnie.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Berryton United Methodist Church. Private burial will take place in Rossville Cemetery. Kenny will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Berryton United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 7010 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, KS 66409 or to the Northeast Kansas Parkinson Association, P.O.
